Eddyville Water & Sewer

*** PLEASE REMEMBER NOT TO FLUSH TISSUES, PAPER TOWELS, SANITIZING WIPES & "FLUSHABLE" WIPES. BECAUSE THEY DO NOT BREAKDOWN, FLUSHING THESE ALTERNATIVE OPTIONS CAUSE MAJOR ISSUES FOR YOUR LOCAL WASTEWATER PLANT AND CAN CAUSE SEWER WATER TO BACK UP INTO YOUR HOMES.

Water

The Eddyville Water Treatment Plant, located on Sewer Plant Road, currently provides water to approximately 1,200 customers.  Continuous laboratory testing at both the water plant and at numerous sites throughout the distribution system ensures that all water treated at our plant meets state and federal standards.

Sewer

Two sewer rehab projects have been recently completed in the last few years.  Our employees maintain an on-going pro-active collection system maintenance program.

Utility Rate Increases

In order to provide the best services possible to our water and sewer customers, and to allow for increased costs for utilities, chemicals, personnel, etc., rates charged for water and sewer will increase 3% effective July 1, 2024.

Signing up for water/sewer service with Eddyville Water Department:

In order to sign up for water/sewer service (also includes garbage service for city residents), you can visit Eddyville City Hall office located at 153 West Main Street in Eddyville. This office is open Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. As an alternative, you can sign up here on the website using a debit/credit card (subject to service fees).

A water meter deposit of $150.00 is required for all customers. The deposit must be paid at the time you sign up for service. In person, we accept all forms of payment (cash, money order, debit/credit card, check).  If you are moving from one location to another, within our service area, then your deposit can transfer to the new location. If you are going to have water service in your name at more than one location, then a deposit is required at each location. Please call us at (270) 388-2226 with any questions.

Water/Sewer Service Information:

  • Water and sewer bills are mailed to customers on the last day of each month. If you fail to receive a bill by the 5th of the month, please contact our office at (270) 388-2226.
  • Bills are due on the 15th of each month. If a bill is not paid by the close of business on the 15th of the month, then a 10% late fee is assessed. Any bill not paid by the close of business on the last day of the month is subject to termination of service.
  • For your convenience, we have a payment drop box which is located in the rear of City Hall. This box may be used 24 hours a day for all payments to the City of Eddyville.
  • We also offer automatic bank draft. This free service is an easy and convenient way to pay your utility bill. You may come in and sign up for this service with a voided check at Eddyville City Hall. You can also find this form on our website. This payment will be taken out on the 15th of each month (bill due date) or the next business day if the 15th falls on a weekend or holiday.
  • Click here to pay your bill online, with a credit or debit card (subject to service fees).
  • Please note that if you choose the bill paying service offered by many banks, it may take 7-14 days for us to receive their check, resulting in your bill being paid "late".

Tap Fees

For new development and/or construction, we have various sizes of water meters available. The tap fees will vary depending on size and current market prices of parts.
