The City of Eddyville collects property taxes for all property located within the city limits and various taxes on all businesses located within the city limits.

Occupational Tax
Each business operating within the City of Eddyville is required to have a business license. To acquire a business license, please fill out the Business License Form and return it to the address below:

Businesses located in the city that have employees are required to withhold a 1.5% local occupational tax and submit to the city a quarterly form reporting that tax, Employer’s Withholding Tax Form, Employers License Fee Withheld Form.

Restaurant Tax
A restaurant tax is levied upon businesses that have retail sales of food and drink. The purpose of this tax is to provide funding for the Lyon County Tourist and Convention Commission in a manner consistent with KRS Chapter 91A.400. This restaurant tax is 2% of gross sales of food and drink.
Insurance Premium Tax
Insurance Premium Tax is collected from all insurance companies that sell and maintain policies. They are required to file quarterly forms as well as an annual reconciliation.
